I think it's a Bird Song from April or May 71. Definitely the same key/modality - compare to this one from L&G weekend at the Fillmore, about 8 minutes in.

not exactly the SAME Bird Song, just very similar. Has that crisp Phil presence and snappy Billy drums in the mix.

Awesome, thank you! I knew it was early to mid '71, just was too lazy to check each version. I already loved this show. Now I like it even more.

I concur, and I also think it might be from the show you linked. I didn't listen again to the whole jam, but I'm actually very familiar with this show (even though it's from the early '70s), and that Bird Song sounds very familiar.

Geez. Nice job. 4.28.71.
Starts in between the 6 and 7 m mark of Bird Song.

No mystery here about where the music's from but when it comes to juxtaposing music with video I found this compelling:

Short but fun.

I listened to this about 20 times the day Jerry passed. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing. Of all the things to listen to that day.
This video: I just want it and the music to keep going.
That it's only a minute and change is a bummer!

Bird Song. Hmmm...if so, thats a very nice jam for not being a part of a DS. I just may have to go on a bird-binge, to include a fav - 8/27/72

Imo, the heat of that day, which changed the tuning thru out that show added to the psychedelic vibe. 30,000 people. I'd gander that a few of u were there, gooseloose and hippy :)

Funny. 8/27 was the first version I checked too, and my first thought was that it was in a different key! I never quite realized how out of tune they actually were that day.

Thought they were gonna change their name to the
Sunstroke Serenaders. "God love ya"

And like AR said, "Astounding."
This is why we come here...you all are GRATE

I knew I was out of the running when I read the words
'very knowledgable'

That's a pretty great find. 4/28/71 is one of my favorite shows.

Best Other One Ever.
